This lute will play in G with gut strings at A=440. This is a smaller instrument that works well either as an early unadorned 6 course or in its original "Golden Age" dressed up 7 course configuration.
The body or bowl is 11 ribs and available in maple, ash, elm, or cherry. For yew wood, see Custom Orders. The neck and peg box will be of beechwood (unveneered) or the neck can be optioned with spruce/fir core with an ebony veneer. Fingerboards and binding options are maple, rosewood, and ebony.
This lute plays in 'G' at A=415 with gut, but also works well in A=440 with nylon or Nylgut.
All of the materials and options are the same as above.
This design model has recently been replaced by the V92G and has all the same specs and material options. However, I will continue to make some if requested.
Also available as a bass lute in F or D at 67-72cm string length.
This is a larger bodied lute that plays in 'G' at A=415. It can be strung for 65cm for A=440 using nylon, but the first string will likely break often.
Body/bowl available in maple, ash, cherry, elm in 8 or 10 courses and rosewood for 10 courses only. Neck is available in solid woods or spruce/fir core with ebony or rosewood veneer.
Body/bowl available in maple or rosewood. Neck of spruce/fir with ebony or rosewood veneer.
